Books for Africa

Books for Africa ships donated text and library books to Africa.  In 2018 Education Africa partnered with Books for Africa to ship 25 thousand books to Pakwach District in Uganda. One hundred eleven (111) schools from kindergarten to university levels received books that greatly supplemented whatever books they had in stock.

Jonam Development Foundation

Jonam Development Foundation (JDF) is a community based organization based in Pakwach District, Uganda with a focus to enhancing local development including education of children and youth in the area.  Education Africa partnered with JDF in 2018 when it carried its first book project in the region.  JDF continues to be a great partner of Education Africa.  In addition, JDF is overseeing Education Africa’s  sponsorships for  6 students with disability in schools for students with special needs.

Rabondo Community Project

Rabondo Community Project USA was founded by Mr. Timon Bondo in 1988 to empower rural Kenyans through education and cooperative efforts.   Timon, who became blind as an adult was a model diaspora individual with an aspiration that fell in line with the project model of Education Africa.  Education Africa has been partnering with the project to fundraise to support students at Rabondo Secondary School.  Unfortunately, Mr. Timon passed away in 2020 but his vision for his community lives on!

9 Books, Kenya

9BOOKS has been training teachers for the last 10 years in Kenya. They have been working side by side with Kenyan teachers to ensure their ownership of the 9Books mission.  Their project focuses on  training teachers to incorporate questions into classroom curriculum through the use of Thinking Cards and books. Due to the impact of COVID-19, during the last couple of years, indigenous Kenyan partners have taken up the challenge to train teachers themselves. 9BOOKS, Kenya has continued to ship the books and materials to Kenya and the teachers host their own trainings using Kenyan teachers. Education Africa partners with 9BOOKS, Kenya in their fundraising efforts to support their activities and program.

Gimbii Library Project

Gimbii Library Project

The Gimbii Library Project (GLP) is a project of the Greater Gimbii Development Association (GGDA). GGDA is a voluntary association of a group of diaspora people who were originally from the greater Gimbii area of Oromia and are now residing in Minnesota, USA. Education Africa has been partnering with the Gimbi Library Project to support their fundraising efforts to complete the library building in Gimbi, Oromia a regional state in Ethiopia.

Mark Deziel’s Tax Services

Mr. Mark Deziel, the treasurer of Education Africa dedicates his 20% of tax preparation service fees to support Education Africa. This means that for every $100.00 paid to him, Education Africa receives $20.00. Opportunities exist to emulate Mark’s generous support by other organizations that would like to contribute to improve access to quality education in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Amaco Education Solutions

Amaco Education Solutions (AES) is a consulting firm started in 2010 providing education services to schools, parents, and individuals with disabilities. Services include Due Process support and Management, Evaluations, Direct Instruction, Indirect Consultation and Child Find team collaboration. AES provides technical expertise and consultation related to education in Sub-Saharan Africa and shares infrastructure system with Education Africa.

junebird creative, LLC

junebird creative is a limited service marketing firm based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Education Africa has partnered with junebird creative to develop this website and support ongoing digital efforts. On a personal level, junebird creative’s owner Christine Tierney witnessed educational disparity while traveling in Tanzania years ago. Her experience in Tanzania enhances her appreciation for and support of the important work Education Africa does for communities in need.
